2nd Annual Men’s Getaway
February 29, 2004This year we had another successful Men’s Getaway. The trip started at 10am on Friday morning. The ride up took longer than usual because of a hazmat spill on I80. But that didn’t dampen our spirits. The drive up was beautiful. All the trees were covered in snow from the recent storm. There was a good 3 feet of powder around the cabin.
That evening Chef Steve White BBQ’d us an excellent dinner with his Wireless BBQ Thermometer. Then we spent the rest of the evening enjoying each other’s company.
On Saturday, the group split up. Jim, Mario and Dougie went skiing at Squaw. The met up with Gary. And the rest of the crew tried their luck at Silver Legacy in Reno. There weren’t any big winners or looser.
That evening we met at a home style restaurant in Truckee for dinner. The dinner was great.
In attendance this year was Jack Diego from New York. They called him up on Thursday and he flew out Friday to join us. It was a lot of fun to see him again.
And a special thanks to Jake Rosebrock, who stayed home to watch tow for Doug. We missed him. Hopefully they can both join us next year. I had an excellent time and can’t wait to do it next year. Click on the comment button to add your own stories or memories from this weekend.
